About Me:
My background includes 14 years as a software professional focused on developing infrastructure and applications using object-oriented, web and distributed computing technologies. I have worked in both management consulting and corporate product development, market development roles consulting startups, as well as a principal, software and systems architect in pre-IPO startup companies. I offer particular expertise in the Java platform, open source technologies, as well as agile development processes including XP, Scrum, and agile modeling.
I have deep experience in all aspects of the software development life-cycle. I have worked on complex application issues such as scaling for rapid growth and anomalous peak usage, performance tuning (including garbage collection tuning), and application refactoring. I have kept abreast of the many changes in the Java language and libraries, as well as open source frameworks including solutions for web Model-View-Controller, Object-Relational Mapping and Dependency Injection. I continue to monitor developments in the Java platform, emergence and evolution of new and classic programming languages, and innovations in general computer science.
